Dr. Danet Bluhm Recognized as one of South Texas Nurse Imagemakers by the Sigma Delta Alpha-at-Large and Texas Nurses Association District 8

PACC-CTR’s very own Dr. Danet Bluhm has been recognized as one of South Texas Nurse Imagemakers by the Sigma Delta Alpha-at-Large and Texas Nurses Association District 8 during the 15th Annual South Texas Nurse Imagemakers Celebration, a virtual program held last May 12, 2022, along with two great Filipino nurses from Philippine Nurses Association of San Antonio, Golda Manalili and Albert Tarriela.
The Sigma Delta Alpha-at-Large and Texas Nurses Association District 8 recognizes Dr. Bluhm’s important contribution in the field of nursing as the founding adviser of the International Nursing Student Association (INSA) of the University of Texas, San Antonio. In addition to this, she is also a tenured faculty and director of the International Program of the School of Nursing. Since founding INSA in 2009, she has provided students with community service learning, opportunities to provide care to vulnerable populations to date about 3,000 through diabetic and cardiovascular health screening, and health literacy promotion.
Dr. Bluhm’s inspiring character shone brightest during the pandemic when she led students to provide covid-19 vaccines to minority communities, especially those with access issues. Continuing her great service, she also mentored minority student leaders for funding applications to support CLS activities with a hundred percent funding success. This experience provided students with strong communications, leadership, and research background contributing to their decision to undertake graduate education.
In all of her activities, Dr. Bluhm was always a professional where she exhibited her communication skills, respect, influence, courage, empathy, and gratitude. PACC-CTR can never be more blessed to have a Board Member/Imagemaker in the organisation and ever proud with this prestigious achievement.
